Digital Help Hub

Addressing digital needs in Wexford and Enniscorthy.

"Betty received a text for a health appointment to follow a link, she thought this was a spam text. Her son thought the same. She showed the text to the tutor at the digital hub, who at once recognised it as genuine. This health appointment may have been otherwise missed." Quote from facilitator

This project is making a pop-up help hub available in Wexford and Enniscorthy to tackle unmet digital literacy needs.

The Digital Help Hub was initially available for 10 weeks between August and October 2023. The help hub was set up in various places, like local libraries, Tesco supermarkets, and daycare centres. It was so successful that help hubs in libraries are still up and running every other week today.

100 people have used the help hub so far. Two tutors help people use devices and resources related to literacy and language.

This project empowers learners to develop their digital literacy skills and encourages them to use local libraries and community centres.

Wexford Digital Help Hub

"During a visit from Minister Simon Harris to open Wexford College of Further Education and Training, two participants from the Digital Pop up Hub spoke to the Minister about the positive impact the Hub has had on their digital confidence." Quote from facilitator

This project was the result of a collaboration between Wexford Local Development, Wexford County Council Library Service, Templeshannon Community and Childcare Centre, and Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board (WWETB).
